Six companies bidding for Gebel El Zeit wind plant’s O&M contract

Six foreign and local companies are planning to bid for a five-year operation and maintenance contract for the New and Renewable Energy Authority’s (NREA) 220 MW wind plant in the Gabal El Zeit complex in the Gulf of Suez, the local press reports, quoting unnamed sources.

The companies include Denmark’s Vestas, Siemens Gamesa, Voltalia, China Energy, and Orascom Construction, according to the sources. NREA is expected to review the technical offers on 11 October, and the company awarded the contract is expected to begin operating the plant within two weeks and one month thereafter, the sources added.
