Norway-based floating LNG giant, Höegh LNG said its floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) Höegh Gallant received the 100th cargo in Ain Sokhna.

The FSRU entered commercial operation, serving as Egypt’s import terminal, in late April 2015, as the country pushed to secure gas supply and reduce power shortages.

It serves under a five-year charter agreement with the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company EGAS, and in a brief social media statement, Höegh LNG informed the vessel has received the 100th cargo since starting operations as Egypt’s import terminal.

Built in 2014 by the South Korean shipbuilder Hyundai Heavy Industries, the FSRU Höegh Gallant is capable of storing 170,000 cubic meters of the chilled fuel and has a regasification capacity of 500 mmscf/d.
