Production is also expected to reach 1.2 bcf/d within the next few days as the units’ output is optimized ahead of Ramadan. Another two production units will be brought online by August.
Zohr production increased to 1.2 billion cubic feet daily before Ramadan
Minister of Petroleum Tarek el Molla said Monday Zohr gas field production will rise to 1.2 billion cubic feet per day before the fasting month of Ramadan.
At a joint press conference with Cypriot Minister of Energy Yiorgos Lakkotrypis, he said two lines will be added to the production in August.
Molla described the progress made in the field as a major achievement by companies operating in the project, which would contribute to curbing the imports of liquefied gas, supporting energy sector in Egypt, increasing the number of gas-operated vehicles and diversifying energy resources and petrochemical projects.
