Minister of Petroleum meets with Chief Executive Officer of German DEA

MOP - DEAEng. Tarek El Molla, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources met with Thomas Rappuhn, Chief Executive Officer of German DEA Deutsche Erdoel AG.

El Molla discussed the mechanisms of future cooperation between the Egyptian Petroleum Sector and DEA , and the possibility of establishing cooperation between both sides over the coming period in the projects of petroleum & gas in the Delta and the Mediterranean Sea and the Gulf of Suez to the development and production of oil and gas and targeted investment plans in this area.

During the meeting, El Molla pointed out that DEA is one of the mega companies that expanded its operations in Egypt, and stressed the fruitful cooperation with the company of the first gas production from the West Delta gas fields in the North and West Mediterranean deep which German company with British operator BP’s main project and successful cooperation with the petroleum sector in ending the first phase of the project and planned before gas production by eight months reflecting the outstanding performance and confidence in the oil sector.

The Minister added that continued with a delegation of German company plans to develop and produce gas from the second phase of the Nile Delta Disouq wild field which is one of the most common projects. Thomas Rappuhn, Chief Executive Officer of DEA Deutsche Erdoel AG said that the “West Nile Delta is the largest new gas project that has been brought into production in Egypt in the last years. Its gas will contribute materially to the energy balance in the country. It is also one of the largest investment projects within DEA’s portfolio and we are pleased that the first gas milestone has been reached.”
