Egyptian Prime Minister Sherif Ismail met with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov in the presence of the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek El Molla and Rovnag Abdullayev, Chairman of State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR).
At the meeting, the sides exchanged their views on the ways of further advancing the bilateral cooperation in political, economic, energy, transport, education, culture and humanitarian spheres between Azerbaijan and Egypt, APA reports. In this regard, it was mentioned that the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries will be celebrated next year. They also expressed their conviction that the meeting of the Joint Inter-Governmental Commission to be held in late November will contribute to the enhancement of cooperation in various fields.
Touching upon the issues of cooperation in the field of energy, the sides noted that the beneficial relationship between SOCAR and the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC) has been established for more than 6 years.
Prime Minister Sherif Ismail Mohamed stated that Minister Elmar Mammadyarov’s visit to Egypt has an importance in terms of development of bilateral relationship and emphasized that such visits create favorable opportunities for defining the future landmarks of the relationship between our countries.
