Iraqi President Fuad Masum met with Egyptian Minister of Petroleum Eng. Tarek El-Molla and an accompanying delegation in Baghdad to discuss bilateral ties between the two countries. The talks were held on forming stronger ties between the two countries in the fields of industry, gas and Petroleum.
Iraqi President and Eng. Tarek El-Molla discussed possible bilateral relations between the two countries in the oil and gas field along with sharing expertise and trainings in the different levels of the petroleum industry. Furthermore, they discussed cooperation between Egypt, Iraq and Jordan and the importance for oil and gas industry to the three nations. They also discussed establishing joint ventures between Egypt and Iraq that would be specialized in drilling activities.
Eng. Tarek El-Molla reportedly restated Egypt ’s support for Iraq in its fight against militants and expressed a desire to “enhance cooperation between the two countries in industry, oil and gas sectors.”
