Eng. Tarek El Molla, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, and Mohamed Ahmed Abdel Zaher, Governor of Alexandria, have announced the launching of the 8th Mediterranean Offshore Conference and Exhibition (MOC) on April 19th, under the auspices of Prime Minister Eng. Sherif Ismail.
More than 70 local, regional, and international firms from 23 countries are participating in the exhibition, where they will present their activities and the latest technologies used in the oil and gas industry.
Eng. Tarek El Molla said that the conference provides a good opportunity for scientific and practical discussions to enrich the oil industry, especially with regard to exploration and production in deep waters. He added that a number of important issues related to the natural gas industry in the Mediterranean region will be discussed during the conference.
Eng. Osama Al Bakly, MOC’s Head of Organizing Committee, explained that the conference has become one of the most prominent events on the international conferences agenda, attended by many industry experts. It is expected that 2,000 participants will take part in the conference over the course of three days.
For his part, the minister reviewed a number of challenges facing the Petroleum Sector, pointing out that during the past two years, the Ministry of Petroleum, in the framework of the government’s plan, has managed to take a number of measures and policies to support the energy sector.
